Comment translation
Comments may be allowed for different types of contents, the most popular are blog posts.
ICanLocalize Translator makes it easy to manage comments in multiple languages, moderate and respond. The way it works is:
- Each blog post will have comments in the same language in which the post is written.
- Site admin will read automatic machine translation for comments. This translation is free and immediate. It's not perfect but (usually) allows understanding what's in the comment. We use the Google translation for that.
- When the admin replies to comments, those replies are not posted immediately. Instead they are sent to the same translator who translated the post. The translation is then posted.
As a result, all the comments in translated posts appear in the same language (both from visitors and from the author). When the author sees that page, all comments appear in the author's language.
Controlling comment translation
You can control which of these two comment translations will be performed. This setting is found in the ICanLocalize Core page.

Even if you've chosen to translate your replies, you can control it per message by modifying the translation option in the comment form.
